Of course they do. They are professionals. Some of their choices are insane, but most of them are right. For example, it's ridiculous that Beyonce has 9 grammys, while Whitney Houston has 6. Or Ray Charles winning album of the year just because he passed away. Or U2 winning every time they release something no matter how good/bad it is. But you can't help it. There's no point complaining because our favorite artist didn't win. :( Grammys are and will always be THE MOST PRESTIGEOUS music awards, because people who vote are the most competent.

The Grammys are not so much about music, but more about the business of selling music as a packaged product.

if they did know anything about music there wouldn't be a lot of categories for rap and hip-hop
