Im ordering a 20 piece cosmetic brush set off ebay but want some really good quality ones without spending too much. If they are natural bristle does that mean they are good quality. Any help or suggestions?

Personally i think mac has great brushes for affoardable price. But i think saving your money to get good brushes are better, they can last a long time with good care. Get a set for home use and get a smaller one for your handbag.

I think the best brushes are from shu uemura, mac and stila. shu uemura has three categories based on hair quality and desired finish: Synthetic, Natural and Kolinsky" check out their website.

Go for natural hair bristles over synthetic for most brushes, except for eyeliner, foundation, and concealer brushes (those should be synthetic). They are easier on the face's delicate skin and will give a much better application. I've worked in the cosmetics industry for many years for many lines, and I have found that most brushes are good, so it depends on how much money you want to spend, but spending a lot is not necessary. Take a look at Prescriptives, MAC, & Sephora for individual brushes. Mary Kay has a great set for only $45 that has 5 brushes and a bag to hold them (see link below)

Most drugstore-brand makeup brushes are no good. The bristles fall out easily. Natural bristle doesn't necessarily mean it's good quality, but it's worth a try. MAC brushes are the best, but I'm not sure how much they go for on ebay.

i find thick soft natural bristle brushes are better, they cover more area, and do not leave patches as some more brittle ones do. i have some amazing cosmetics by loreal, so i would get some of those if you can. but yes, natural bristle brushes are generally better, though you can't go very wrong with any sort of cosmetic brushes. x

ok, Mac's brushes are very well worth it. I very own each and every brush ever, and that i amassed them over the final 5 years, i've got been prepared approximately mac when you consider that i replaced into like 10. So that's well worth it. 39 brushes entire, yet regularly people are not getting stuff like that for christmas. so i could ask for a pair of brushes 134 powder face brush 129 blush brush 187 bronzer brush (may well be used for beginning blush powder or bronzer) a hundred ninety beginning brush 195 concealer brush 252 eyeshadow shading brush 275 angled brush (for outer corners) 222 mixing/crease brush 316 lip brush (additionally may well be used for liquid/gel liner) you may desire to get all those for $251.00, that has each and every brush which you relatively need so after which you would be able to easily purchase a pair others you prefer. each and each mac brush, in case you prefer to purchase authentic ones it is going to value over 1280 money.

Natural bristles are usually softer therefore delivering an application to the face that can be easily blended without damaging the skin. Some synthetic bristles are too rigid therefore they apply too much makeup at once. And the more you try to blend the more you damage your skin.

I think the best make up brushes around are the ones from Virgin Vie - they have soft natural bristles and dont malt when using them and they last forever - you can buy them separatley but they can be a bit pricey ( £8 upwards for one brush) but they are well worth it.

MAC has great makeup brushes but they can be a little pricey depending on what type of brush you want/need. In that case, Sonia K brushes (only sold at Target) are also very good.

You are going to want soft bristle ones. They tend to be made of natural materials and apply makeup so much more evenly.
