Is it possible that there is no such thing as matter and all physical and chemical phenomenon can be explained in terms of pure energy interaction?

My question relates to theoretical physics.
Since most phenomenon can be explained in terms of energy and not mass,
And since Einstein already asserted that matter and energy are equivalent, my question was is it possible that the concept of matter and mass is simply wrong and everything in the end of the day is energy.
The periodic table for example is build around the concept of mass, but it fails to explain how is it possible that two consecutive elements show completely different characteristics, and even different isotopes of the same element can be very much different.
Maybe a periodic table based on energy could make a lot more sense and help explain many phenomenon.

Sure this is possible. It is even likely.

"matter" is just a definition, just like "atom" is.

Atoms are divisible after all. The next idea was that electrons, neutrons and protons were the smallest. Then another set of even smaller building blocks was found.

Once we understand string theory to be mostly true, I bet the tiny strings are really just some form of energy waves.

Most of the energy on Earth comes originally from the Sun. How is energy created? Nuclear fusion in the Sun's core converts hydrogen into helium and other substances. During the fusion process matter is converted to energy in the form of heat and light.

Energy and matter have multiple forms and can be changed from one form to another. When you turn on a light, you are converting electrical energy into heat and light energy.

This electrical energy comes from a power plant where it was converted from other sources such as water, oil and gas, nuclear, solar or wind energy

That's not consistent with the standard model that explains all quantum particles and phenomenon. Energy and matter can be converted into one another, but cannot be replaced by the other.

Think carefully before you separate matter from energy! No matter, no energy! No energy, No matter! Nothing exists without matter and energy! They are all! and be all! In this Universe. Interaction is the key word! You have a good day!

Energy has yet to be proven and same with mattter! but if you asked me I would say that mattter with motion is energy. Unless of course your talking about EM fields then I have no clue what your talking about.

Nothing wrong with your theory, except that it appears to offer neither an experiment to test it nor any prediction of new phenomena.
