I'm supposed to see my dad on Tuesday, and I get paid tomorrow (Monday), which leaves me with just tomorrow to buy him a present. I need some ideas as to what to get him. I've only got today to get the answers, so please help!!!!

P.S. You've got until 4.30, pm, then I'm looking for the best answer.

He's 39, Gemini (if that helps any), likes golf, the Army (well, shoot-em-up games) and cars (not the Disney-Pixar film either). He's the most typical bloke I've ever met.

He doesn't want another shoot-em-up game (he gets them on his own),and I'm stuck on what else is left.

Something else I should mention. I don't live with him. I see him every few months (he works really long, unsociable hours and loads of overtime - he's a security guard).

get him a digital photo frame, they are excellent

they look exactly like normal frames but the screen is a small LCD, you insert a memory card or SD card that contains pictures in the back of the frame and they are then displayed as a slide show on the screen changing picture every five minutes or so,

more traditional gifts are of course tie, jumper, sweater....

You said you dad was into golf. Go get him a gift card at a specialty store for golf merchandise, a certificate for a round of golf, or videos golf(bloopers, funniest) if he does not have these already. Also, since he works long hours maybe a gift card from a nice restaurant, that always works. More than anything he probably just wants to spend time with you.

Take him out for a slap up lunch, with a box of Choccies when you get there.

Maybe a Bottle of 18-25 year old Whisky.

Subscription at WH Smith to his fave Mag or start him off on one.

A bottle of Issey Mayake after shave from Boots smells brilliant.

Or order a chinese for home and spend some time with him, with a couple of bottles of good red wine.

If i was you i`d go to an army and navy shop and get him what they call in the army a SOFTY JACKET! scince he`s a security guard it will keep him nice and warm whilst he`s doing his job, they are also very reasonably priced and come in different colours i.e.green,black ,blue etc.I bet you could get one on here too.It wont cost you much for next day delivery.
I used to have one when i was in the army(godsend) it was sooooo warm, but the best bit is you can compress it into a little bag so its handy to keep on you.Oh and a thermo mug for him to have a nice hot tea/cofee when he`s in work.

hope this helps

I don't know how old he is but I'm just gonna guess 50.

I bought my dad a really nice watch last year and he loved it. I find older people like watches with leather straps but I don;t know about your dad.

He might like a new wallet, that might be nice.

How about Givenchy-Pi after shave. It is very nice and I'm sure your dad would like it.

Or how about you really spend and buy him a new tv or a DVD player.

I don't know what your dad likes but I have given you a few ideas. Try to think about what he likes or what he needs. Like a new dishwasher lol
