Your Pc is infected by a virus. A virus usually causes this. Download and install AVG Free from www.download.com.
Update it and run a full scan of your system. Remove any viruses found. I f this does not help then check the cables connected to you DVD ROM. if that does not work then I am afraid your going to have to buy a new one or give this one for repairs.

Try going to my computer, right click, properties, hardware, then look for your DVD drive - click the sign + and uninstall the driver and then reinstall it. You may have to restart your computer after wards. Restarting your computer detects new hardware and re installs the driver anyway!

samsung dvd always give tht kinda probs so better stay away frm samsung optical drives and go for sony
