I live abroad in Turkey and have a grape vine in the garden that I want to move but don't know if it will kill it. The weather here is like early autumn, late spring in britain.
Are there any precautions I should take while moving it.
It does look as if it's dormant at the moment.

It is best to move it in it's dormancy. Please forgive me for not knowing, but, does it freeze there? It's best to wait until after the first hard freeze to move it. Best of luck.

You can move that grape vine in the spring or late fall. Dig down deep to make sure that you are getting the full root of the plant. Also digging deep protects the roots from getting damaged.
It is best not to move a dormant plant because the roots will not be growing rapidly enough to keep the plant alive once it is transplanted to a new location.

When it's dropped all leaves its fully dormant, move it then. Take as much root as possible, you will have to cut back the top growth to compensate for root loss by at least half. Water well when replanted and continue watering extra through the next growing season. It should then cope on its own.

try taking some cuttings about 30 Cm's with a couple of buds showing and propagate them .
it'll take about 18 months to get a leader to take to the trellis , but it is easier than trying to transplant which may not succeed . good luck .

you move it early spring when the buds start to get swollen to produce new leaves.
you have to cut some branches to reduce the amount of sup it will need so the roots can cope until it makes more roots.
