The best thing you can do is be a good listener, & an investigator if you want to lay any type of foundation to his claims.
To automatically say he has a problem, or does drugs, etc. is very stereotypical, narrow-minded & immature. To discount that things could be possible leaves a person open to a possible rude awakening. If you don't believe him, spend time w/him, & see if anything happens or appears (common sense). Then you can say to yourself that he WAS lying, OR maybe there is some truth to what he says. There is only one way to know for sure.
>> My ex & stepson claimed their house had these "shadows" that were there, & they were of my stepson's "grandma". He even had an encounter with it before. I was skeptical, but open minded. Then one Saturday morning I felt someone (something) in the bed lying with me on my back like snuggling up to me. So I didn't think much of it, after a bit I found that I was alone in the bed. My ex said she awoke hours earlier & had been gone to the store & then was in the kitchen making breakfast. So it must have been "grandma".

It is very possible that he is experiencing a mental illness--it actually sounds a bit like Schizophrenia. I would seek the attention of a psychiatric professional, especially if you feel that these delusions could place him or someone else in harm's way. Good luck.

It sounds as if he's hallucinating. If this isn't drug induced, then he should be evaluated by a mental health professional. He could become dangerous to himself and/or others if he thinks the shadows are threatening. Medication can help this and he can go on to function normally.

Its ok to a person to see souls cause its normal to peoples that have third eye. Even I have third eye, I can see fairys and ghost. They are just showing by accidently or want to get your attention with them.

if there is fear of evil then there should be the fear of god. i believe god sentiment will work out for him. if no belief in god produce some in him. watch some evil movies and see how the hero gets out of them. use those techniques and become hero to your friend
