I leave my 'popups okay' turned off and all other such controls. When I go to a web-site, I have appropriate blocking features installed to restrict any virus or other mis-behaving bug from crawling up my shorts. Averyone can ignore the ads and if the site flickers, it's maybe unstable and just needs to be refreshed. No help? Ignore it too and move on to the next. I don't waste my time considering what is insignificant. I only see what I want or need and ingnore the rest.

Yes.

Hope a short answer is OK - I assume you're doing a survey of some kind.

There's a couple of sites I used to visit (one was a great online Sudoku site) and yo'd suddenly get a pop-up ad and it would wipe out all the work you'd done. But it seems that the site managers were able to suppress it.

Hope that tells you what you needed to know.

Just get Firefox and use its Extensions "Adblock" and "R.I.P. - Remove It Permanently".

With these Extensions you can go to an ad infested website, and if Adblock doesn't filter the ad yet, you can right-klick on the annoying part, and choose to "Remove It Permanently".

I especcially use this on websites, that use those insanely annoying layer ads, where the ad is shoved over the text you want to read.
