I'm referring in particular to university final exams that are closed books/notes. Even if you know the material, sometimes the concept that it's an exam and a lot of weight of your final grade is depending on it. The basic fact of facing these problems presented on a blank sheet of paper is nerve racking. How do you cope w/ this test anxiety?

I agree with everything that Ai says, but I also eat a simple sugar (like a mini candybar) about 5-10 min. before the exam. Your brain operates on oxygen and glucose, and it doesn't hurt to give your brain a little extra fuel! Just stay calm and prepare, and you will do just fine.

Look through the book and try to come up with questions the teacher might ask on the exam. Write the questions out and quiz yourself on them. This will benefit you by: 1.) Getting you in the habit of answering questions. 2.) Help you remember answers 3.) Raise your confidence.

Begin studying far in advance to sooth your nerves and help you feel better prepared. If this is last minute studying, don't panick and learn as much as possible. Even if you only learn a little bit, it is better than nothing and might just get you enough points for a passing grade.

Make CERTAIN that you review your notes and the material right before the test. Refreshing your memory the day of the test is key to coming up with the answers on the test, especially if its an essay test.

Go to your textbook's companion site and take the pretests on there.

(1) Prepare & review all your materials. Just do the best.
(2) I usually pray before exams (if u have particular faith).
(3) Eat something (in case it is a morning exam, or even afternoon exam). You don't want to have a low-blood sugar because you pull an all-nighter and be dizzy at exam.
(4) Go to the toilet. Important.
(5) Come early for the examination.
(6) 5 - 10 minutes before the exam begins, sit down and wait calmly for the exam to begin. Don't review anything. Just stay calm (even if you're really really anxious).
(7) Good luck for ur final exam!!

It is not going to make your anxiety completely disappeared. But it can lessen your anxiety a lot. And by being prepared, at least you will have less things to worry about.
