i fully agree, and i also have a problem with it.When you go to the stores those people will knock you down.So this year I am not worried about what other people do,Im not going to stress.I bought a few gifts for my closest ones which wasn,t very many, and i did it at leasure...I plan to celebrate Christ this year, instead of worrying over gifts and what to spend, and obligations, like what to get who and just be happy.christmas has gotten way put of hand, and people have forgot what christmas is all about..

Christmas has always been a secular holiday and will always be one. No amount of preaching is ever going to change that. However shopping was not always associated with it and isn't likely to go away no matter how many people wish it to be. If commercialism bothers you, the simple logical solution would be to not participate. You can't have your cake and eat it too. Even though many people say they are not materialistic, Christmas wouldn't be the same to them without the gifts. Why does it bother you what other people do in their own homes? Focus on whatever it is that you celebrate and leave everyone else be.

Just keep the real meaning in your heart and watch old movies and tv shows that contain the true meaning. Be sure your decorations reflect Jesus. Remember that Christmas is not about getting presents but about giving of yourself and love, peace, and joy.

cut way down on the gift giving for starters. keep it simple, have dinner with the family. see if they will attend services with you.
