I am an American living in the UK...."making out" in America means lots of kissing and touching and going at it hot and heavy but does not include full sex. I grew up in the 60's and then it was also known as "necking".

I have no idea, but playing the Sims 2, if you select "make out" they just snog a bit more forcefully than if you select "romantic kiss". There's no nudity, no pixellated blur, and they can do it in front of other sims. So I'm guessing it just means kissing.

in movies or in TV making out means that two couples are having the three letter word already..sorry but it means their having sex already! thats what i think or i understand about the word making out!
