I'm just curious maybe....but the techniques used like stroking, and pummelling, twisting, and massaging are uesd in both orthodox, and unorthodox therapies, i know for sure that touch is very therapeutic anyway but can a person really heal another's ailments through touch?......and has it been proved?

Yes it has. It's so funny, I just did a presentation for my subject of physiotherapy. My topic was 'Massage Therapy'.
Massage has many diverse physiological effects, which are primarily due to the therapist's hands moving over the body. The different movements can physically stretch muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia, encourage the circulation through the tissue, inhibit muscular spasms and be either sedating or stimulating to the nervous system.
I mean imagine it, it has been around for ages, in ancient times in Egypt, in ancient Chinese and Indian medicine, and they are still widely practised all over the world nowadays.
It is also believed that every human being in this earth has a inborn longing to touch. To feel another human's skin on your. So you could say that massage therapy both has therapeutic effects mentally and physically.

The theory is touching, hugging, any show of affection lowers stress hormones particularly cortisol and this can "balance" the immune system and make it more effective. A mother cradling her child often brings about a quicker recovery from illness than a child left to cry alone in a cot. It is even possible this is how Jesus performed miracles. certainly most hypnotherapists understand that making a person relaxed is very effective in treating all kinds of ailments such as migraines. Hypnotherapists mainly use the tone of their voice but often use touch too.
