No it's not an illusion. Once you've found it, it's the most beautiful, most real thing in the world...

I think the term eros love is an illusion. It's just an excuse to be in a sexual relationship without the attachment and commitment that come in a truly loving relationship. I believe in the definition of love I learned in Philosophy class that Love is working toward attaining all the possible good for the other person in all aspects of his/her life

This is going to be heavily dependant on how you define illusion. Is everything an illusion? then it would have to be. but that is clearly not the answer you would accept. I would say that love is the only thing that is not an illusion from a spiritual perspective. I think that it is the one thing that we do not try to put words to and we simply let it exist without really comprehending it too much. It is what frees us from looking at things in relation to ourselves. The love I speak about is unconditional love, that i believe can only be achieved by loving all things equally and without condition of course. :)

Good question!!
Yes, the eros love is either an infatuation or adventurist romanticism......... doesn't last for long. But as always, there are exceptions to the rule ..... the exception here is the case where the first love is the only love..... all other relationships later do not match the quality and intensity of this first love.

The essence of your being is unconditional love, you have unity with God in unconditional love within your heart. If you still believe in the ILLUSION that you are separate and apart from God, then you will see unconditional love through the mental concepts of duality, Conditional love/hate and all the emotions in between.

Like in your question there become many different love definitons but I think that Love is Love and have only one definiton which is I am not capable of say.
..but I can say about love that love is real. Furthermore; love is understanding real. Love is understanding ourselves.
Love is understanding the GOD
