Knowing the right people can help you get where you want to go. Having friends prevent you from being miserable. Maintaining a good realtionship with your co-workers ensure you a trouble-free working experience. Having contact with your neighbours will advantage you during emergancies.
How important is socializing?
Socializing should be 50% of your life. Humans are social-creatures. You won't be able to survive on your own no matter how powerful you are.

Well studies have been done over and over again on people who had no interaction with people for a long period of time and the result is always the same. They go insane.
God created us as a social being. Socialization is one of our most basic needs.
