are you able to skip the itunes part and load any other way.

In the end, yes, you have to go through itunes. But you can get music onto your itunes through other sources such as limewire or any other downloading site. Then from there, load them onto your ipod.

That way you don't have to pay for every song. Its a win-win situation haha. :)

The only way around this is to load alternate software on your ipod (like linux)... HOWEVER THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY and will make itunes incompatible with your ipod. You will be able to load MP3 songs as if it were a generic player.

yea, u should be able to. Dragging an mp3 file to the ipod should be able to play the file. Try it out.

Not unless you upload them in data mode. Then I am not sure if you can listen to them that way.
