unfortunately you are giving it to much of a drink .
but there other scenarios that could be contributing .
it may be it's outlived it's "home " and needs a bigger pot ; but in truth that is unlikely , unless it's in a really small pot .
you could also be over fertilising the plant .
i wouldn't panic too much , but it may work against your theory of to much sunlight --- give as much as you can !! good luck .

Sorry it sounds if you still maybe over watering the plant.
The only way to stop this is two things or even three.
1) Pick-up a small 9 volt plant tester for dampness moisture checker, purchased at any Local Gardener Retail shop or other supply warehouse like Home Depot,Lowes etc.
2) Then check on that filtered lite the plant gets is it good enough to read a paper or book.?
3) Double check to make sure there is no insects on the plant.
Now recheck the leaves structure again.
Note: information only check the leaves that are still on the plant:
if leaves are Yellow from the inner veins to edges:
Then this means under watering:
If this is reversed Outer Edges Yellowed then Sorry over watered is occuring.
I leaned this when i used to work in a Retail garden Shop for 5 years. This just before I went in business for my-self. This now has been 35 years in the business.
So good Luck and double check with a local certifed Gardner at a nusery in your area take samples of the leaves most recently that fell off. Take the leaves put in plastic bag however get the air out of bag before you seal it close.

It's not getting enough sun...and the temp in the kitchen may be too cold in the evening. You can just leave it, and it will recover again in the summer...or you can move it...but it will continue to drop leaves as ficus trees are very sensitive, but if you move it to the right location it will recover and won't lose it's leaves next winter.

A plant will shed its leaves when it needs to conserve energy. It cannot photosynthesise (make food for itself) when it is too dark or cold. So this is why in the autumn leaves fall off, theres not enough of either Your plant isn't getting enough light and warmth to have enough energy to hold on to its leaves. Give it more and it might be OK, I hope.

It's probably getting too much water and not enough light.
Also know that these things do tend to lose a lot of leaves in the fall when conditions change. They also do this to show their displeasure when they are moved from one place to another. In either of these cases, additional water will hurt, not help.

It's called 'healthy fig leaf loss syndrome'. Its causes are yet to be determined though it is believed that the carers will experience bouts of frustration, open mouthed bewilderment and episodes of head scratching. These symptoms will dissipate along with the fig tree.
