"lest we forget" was coined by Sir Winston Churchill in I think, 1939. Lest we forget, to remember but, not to forgive? we have to think it over because we live in a different era now and, this was coined during a horific war.
But, do we learn by our mistakes? I wonder to. I don't think so. You see I know of one woman who had a affair many years ago. It tore apart her husband, the trust he had in her, thier entire relationship. After years of repairing what seemed an impossible dream. seven years later, she did it again. Once again he fargave but couldn't forget. Again they worked at it, again it went for years, of work and sorrow.
Seven years later, she did it again. This went on for a total of six times, that he knew of, each time he forgave and loved again, his heart torn by the lust his wife had for other men.
Did she ever learn? she's 70 now, still young but tired like him, they live together but, do they love like they once did? it's hard to say. did she ever learn by her mistakes, did he learn by her mistakes? only God will know soon.
