pagan, with a moon god is ascendant. The Kaaba is recorded as having many hundred of gods. the meteorite that all Muslims pray too is a pagan worship item. The Koran has at least 4 names of pagan goddess.
At the time Christianity would have been monotheistic leading religion of the area. However in order to grab power in the local area Mohamed needed to use supernatural support. However he could not use straight Christianity or he would have been subject to the christian authority, so he invented a monotheistic loosely based on judo-Christianity. this strategy to gain power worked beyond his wildest dreams. Obviously this caused untold misery, pain and death after his death.

The Prophet Did not Worship anything before god Sent to him the angel Gabriel, he used to isolate himself in a cave & think "who Created me?" because he didnt believe that the statues that quraysh worshiped are really GODS.

As For why he Embraced the judeo-christian prophets that is because in islam God sent many prophets to many peoples some prophets were killed by their people and some were believed ,
Judaism was The "Right" Religion sent by god through Moses but after moses died the Wicked people Deprived the "Torah" or "Old Testament" to what they want..
Thus god sent Jesus with a new religion but after the Crucifacation & all the wicked people deprived the Bible into what they want,
After that god sent Muhammed with Islam.

Who cares, he's dead. Jesus is the only one that can save us. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice and He died for all, but He rose from the dead and lives. All muhammed did was die.
