Polar Ice is the 'standard'. Currently we are in a period of limited glaciation ( did i spell that right ? ). In theory they will be back big time !

Yes, its been openly discussed a few times.

And in response to the global warming thing. I think its a huge factor to look at. As long as global warming is still occuring, we'll never reach the ice age, for better or worse.

And F.Y.I, global warming occurs because of the thinning of the ozone layer, which is cause by a gazillion technology advancement, like cars, air-conditioners, etc. So it'll be around for a very long time.

In short, I don't think we're ever going to reach the ice age at this rate unless everybody in this world just stop using technology. Plus, let's not forget that a huge portion of the North and South Pole is actually MELTING.

We are certainly overdue for an Ice age , if we are not in one we are not far away from one.

The big difference is that we are prepared for it and will be able to sustain the human race for longer than our predicessors.

My only hope is that world issues such as premature infant death, wars , poverty and hunger and religion will be erradictaeed and a new one world is born from the common endurance.

I know that man is so bent on his own self destruction that it wont happen , but it is a good thought.
