Unless your DVD recorders have a pure digital i/f, such i.Link (IEEE 1394) , and there is no copy protection, it is impossible to make a true dub. In other words, the best you can do is play the movie on one and re-record it back on the other via the component or HDMI i/f. You may find DVD recorders with an internal HDD. Some of them allow a true dub from the HDD to the writable DVD. Then, provided there is no copy protection in the original content, you can make as many copies as you want

you do no longer desire SCART and HD to plug your DVD recorder into the television. One or the different, sure, yet no longer the two. in the journey that your television does not have HD then only plug in the SCART and don't purchase and HD video clips until you have a HD television!
