These are some good but explicit romance writers: Susan Elizabeth Phillips,(all except for Ain't She Sweet) Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn (funny- Romancing Mr. Bridgerton is the best), Pamela Morsi, LaVyrle Spencer (especially November of the Heart and Hummingbird). The Proposition by Judith Ivory is really good. Marion Chesney writes very good light Regency Romance (the Six Sisters Series is the best)

The Wedding by Nicolas Sparks is a good romance novel.

Most of Sparks' novels are romantic and have been made into movies (A Walk to Remember, the Notebook)...

Maybe

Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte
Gone With THe Wind - Margaret Mitchell

I don't know any new ones...

I would also recommend Jane Austin's works.

Read "White" by Rosie Thomas. It's a love story with a difference, set against an attempt to scale Everest. I'm not a climbing fan or anything, but the book is beautifully written and evokes intense emotion. I got my husband (who loves motor stuff and war novels) to read it and he loved it too.
It's a book that's really stayed with me.

"She Who is Running on The Waves" by Alexander Grin.
Very captivating story. I love most of the books that Alexander Grin wrote. His most famous "Crimson Sails" I happen to like the least.
