If it's true love then it will. Whether it be between husband and wife, close friends, or other family members:

Love is patient,
Love is kind,
Love does not envy,
Love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;
Does not behave rudely,
Does not seek its own,
Is not provoked,
Thinks no evil;
Does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
Bears all things,
Believes all things,
Hopes all things,
Endures forever.
Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13:5-8

No! Be true...we are humans. We are inclined to seek for love, warmth and security. We can tolerate a handful of struggles and pain but NOT a lifetime of it! You may have the vigor in the beginning but you will eventually tire out and the love will fade.

Love should be good not hurtful. It should be full of happiness and not sadness.

Yes true love can last a lifetime thought the struggles and pain. its what you go thought together that makes your love stronger
When one is down the other can be their strength, It does not mean than there won't be frights but as long as you can both give and take and forgive and forget then your love will last
May God bless you and Merry Christmas

Yes. My husband and I have been together and apart for 15 years. Sometimes it is extremly beautiful and others - painful. We both have addiction problems and bipolar disorder. True love is adult love. Adult love is loving someone Because of his faults, not in spite of them. Adult love is accepting his shortcomings and my own. Adult love is accepting the ups and downs of life and the ups and downs of each other. Struggles and pain are part of life whether you are single or with someone. Going through the pain with someone beats going through them alone.

Can you? Yea if you have genuine love...from the day you were born you had to deal with stuggles and pain..that's LIFE. So if you couldn't last because you coudlnt' deal with LIFE...then you like the many others here in this generation living only for selfish convenience.
