I'm told that the most friendly states are in the midwest. The snottiest is New York. Any opinions?

I'm from Illinois and people are always saying how friendly midwesterners are to them even in Chicago! Perhaps compared to the east coast but I found the friendliest people in southern states such as Louisiana, Tennesse, and Georgia.

West Coast or the North East. Large cities outside of the South(east), actually. My city has 2-3 million people in the greater area, in the Mid-West, and I doubt many people could lose their job for being an atheist here. Basically, take a presidental election map by county. The bluer it is, the more atheist friendly it is. He should read up on Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. If his employer has 15 or more employees, he's covered, if I understand it correctly.

definitely one on the west coast. We once lived in Ohio, and when we moved back to the west coast, the difference was amazing, we were actually shocked.
