After seeing what kind of damage has been done, I would wait! Especially if your son has a super energy streak like mine does!

I think he will be fine. Especially if this gift is for Christmas and he isnt allowed to play on it. Anyways just go ahead and let him play on it and tell him to be very careful with moving his controller and hold onto it tight. Also use the already existing wriststrap and put it around his wrist snugly. The reason why a lot of wriststraps were broken were because people weren't using it correctly and were using it too harshly causing the wriststrap to break. As long as he knows not to rough house with the controller he should be fine. I would supervise him at first to make sure he knows what you want him to do and maybe move any breakable things from the room to somewhere else just in case something does happen. I'm sure whatever choice you make will be fine even if it is waiting untill you get another wriststrap because it is better to be safe than sorry. I hope you have a happy holiday!

No I got a nintendo wii yesterday, the wrist band is fine. And they said all you do is bring your old wrist band in and trade it in for a new one. So you can go ahead and buy the Wii!

Even with the new wrist band, tell your son on not to be too vigorous on moving his controllers.
The problem is more toward players being too forceful with their controllers.

I would let your kid have it, but tell him to be careful and make sure the strap is nice and tight when he's using it, though not so tight it cuts his circulation off!

I think you should just let him have it! Just make sure that he is real careful, and not to be too rough with it! I hope this helps you!

let him have it, but tell him to be careful. I don't think they're actually been many instances of breakage, just a few, so if he takes it easy, you should be fine.
