The indigenous peoples of the Americas were the pre-Columbian inhabitants of the Americas, their descendants, and many ethnic groups who identify with those historical peoples. (The precise definition of the term is the subject of the Native American name controversy.)
According to current scientific knowledge, human beings did not evolve in North or South America but instead arrived by sea or by a land bridge that formerly connected North America with Asia. Most (if not all) of those indigenous peoples descended from peoples living in Siberia. They entered North America by at least 12,000 years ago and diversified into hundreds of culturally distinct nations and tribes.[1]
Some indigenous peoples of the Americas supported agriculturally advanced societies for thousands of years. In some regions they created large sedentary chiefdom polities, and had advanced state level societies with monumental architecture and large-scale, organized cities. Scholars' estimates of the total population of the Americas before European contact vary enormously, from a low of 10 million to a high of 112 million

I would say the American Indians, but it is a mystery where they came from. The Indians in South America had civilizations that were equal to Rome,Greece, and Egypt. The Indians of South America probably were descended from the North American Indians. Some say that they were related to the Phonecians and the Mongolians, but this is a very controversial theory with little evidence. There is also strong evidence that supports the theory that the Eskimos in Alaska and Canada were related to the Siberian Eskimos. It was probably this group or a close relative that drove the Vikings out of Newfoundland. There is also evidence that the Chinese may have made it to America, about 45 years before Columbus. There is also the storys from the "Book of Mormon" as well.

the first were probably mongolian nomads who crossed over the land bridge across the bering sea between siberia and alaska. it is believed to have been about ywenty thousand years ago. vikings were the first europeans to reach this continet about a thoiusand years ago and archeological evidence in the newfoundland region supports the theory. just so you know, the norse were not germanic. the germanic were migrants from eastern europe around the caucasus regions of russia.
