Absolutely. I think that it is totally upto them and their family and if they feel its a direction they want to go towards, then power to them.

You are opening a serious can of worms here, but here we go...I think that gay people have just as much right to get married as anyone else. I know that there is going to be plenty of people here who disagree with me, but I don't care. I have gay friends who have had a ceremony (it's legal here) and they are more loving and committed than most straight couples I know. In a country where fifty percent of marriages end in divorce, how can we ask people who truly love each other and want to make the greatest commitment to someone possible to give up the right that everyone else has? Just because they're gay doesn't make them any less human. Only 30 years ago, biracial marriage was taboo and almost unheard of, but here we have it happening all the time. Does prejudice and hatred ever get us anywhere? If these people want to get married and love each other, then let them. These days, I think we need a little more love in the world, even if it goes against what we consider "normal".

I think they should have the option, like everyone else. To me, it's not a gay/lesbian issue, or a religious issue, or even a family issue. It's a civil rights issue. And our constitution gives everyone the same rights. So denying gays/lesbians the right to marry is unconstitutional. Hence why republicans are hellbent on a constitutional amendment...they know when it ends up in the Supreme Court, they'll lose.

Married? I think that the problem is the word. So much history and tradition. Maybe call it that one day. Love isn't a problem for most and I wouldn't stand in the way of it. Just find another word for it and as long as it recognised as a valid and legal union then who cares. Take each step as the evolution of mankind/womankind that is necessary to get to where u want it to b.

Any couple, be it boy-girl, girl-girl, or boy-boy, who are committed to each other and share a deep loving bond should be free to marry.

I'm amused that 2 men who love each other more than life itself can not marry, but some 20-something can marry a 90-something just to inherit his money when he dies. How is the gay couple ruining the sanctity of marriage?

Sure they should, they are couples like anyone else. I'm straight and got married because I love my spouse, if they are a gay couple they should have the same right. Separate church and state, it's not a religious issue, it's strictly, as another commenter said, a civil rights issue. I deserve no more rights than another American, gay or not.

Personally, i would say no because it says in the bible marriage is a union between MAN AND WIFE. it's a male and female thing and that's how i believe. BBBUUUTT, i do think that they should be able to get married. I believe that anyone should have the right to marry anyone they love no matter what sex, but i, myself, am against gay/lesbian marriage, and think that it is morally wrong, but people should be able to make their own choices

Yes, definately. Why not ?? Marriage is supposed to be about two people loving each other. It should not matter whether they are gay or straight. Everyone deserves to be loved regardless of their sexual preference.

yes, absolutely. I dont see why a group of people should be descriminated against because of who they love. Marraige is supposed to be about just that; love.

and Christians who base their opinions of their peers on the bible and the fact god supposedly looks down upon gay people should really think hard about it. If god supposedly loves everyone equally and preaches "treat your neighbor as you would yourself", whats so wrong about giving gay people simple equal rights?

i dont think that gay and lesbian should get married..this is because, even they will live happily ever after but there will be something interupt the relationship..people get married to build own family..in other words, children will complete the marriage...if the couple is a lesbian or gay, how do they want to complete the marriage??it is not suitable for them to get married..it is a taboo..
