Yes me. I used to like Christmas for what it was, a celebration of the birth of Jesus. Over the years it has been hijacked by pure commercialism and greed.
I now make Christmas a two day event. Christmas Day where the family and a few friends get together and share the joy of the day. Then Boxing day to get out and about and some fresh clean air. Walking or Golfing or playing tennis. After that business as usual. I stay away from the so called SALES and enjoy fiddling on the PC and general pottering about. Get some more golf in etc and try to stay healthy.
Nice question and I wish you and yours a happy and blessed Christmas.

Defiantly NOT
Forgetting about the commercialised hype it is a time to sit back and relax from studies and work.
Plus you get gifts and a hearty dinner thrown in the mix, yummy :)
Im just hoping that during this xmas break the time wont fly by as fast as it has been doing the last few months, i so need a break.

it's only commercialised if you let it be. You don't have to buy all the gimmicks etc. i like to keep my Christmas traditional, I do buy gifts but I don't go over the top. It is my son's first Christmas, and I have bought him lots of presents, but only things he needs, like new clothes, picture books, new toys.
One thing I am looking forward to is being able to push my prm around shops without getting stuck on extra shelves and boxes etc. it is a nightmare just popping into town for ordinary bits at the moment. I don't drive so all the buses are packed and again with a pram it is a nightmare. I am looking forward to Christmas this year, as I said it is my son's first Christmas, and our first Christmas as a real family. Being with family is what Christmas means to me.

I do enjoy the holidays, but I am looking forward to the after Christmas sales when most things are 75% off and then I shop, I even set aside extra after Christmas money aside, to go shopping with. I would like to celebrate Christmas in January, then you can get some really great bargains. Yes, I will be happy when the Holidays are over with, soon very soon. God Bless and Happy Holidays.

I've got to admit Christmas is very commercialised and over - hyped and it's very, very messy as well. Lots of wrapping paper everywhere, christmas cracker hats and toys everywhere, but I still like Christmas.

We're not "doing" Christmas shopping this year having noticed that everything's 50% cheaper in a fortnight's time. We're going to treat ourselves in the January sales instead with the money we have saved for ourselves, as it's better to save a few pounds/dollars/whatevers on something than support the retail orgy of inflated prices and impossible crowds that Christmas has become.
If you're happy to carry on being a retail slave every December, then you go ahead and enjoy it, but I'll be honest, the pressure is off for us, no "so many shopping days left", and we can enjoy the holiday time without worrying about having to choose, buy, afford to buy, wrap and hide stuff. It isn't mean, it's just a sensible alternative to the parts of Christmas that have always really p*ssed me off.

Yes, couldn't agree more. I once used to enjoy getting together with family and friends to share a meal and give presents. Now it's all just such a hastle especially with the price of food now, the average family cannot even afford to have the traditional christmas food it's ridiculous, at every turn someone is out to grab your money.
Even people's attitudes have changed, it seems all about the giving and receiving of presents now and not just being with family and friends, not just the special time spent together.
It is waaaay over-hyped but i guess that is for the kids ;) and we can't take that away from them so the over hype i think is good.

With normal activity suspended, social life turned upside down, shopping a nightmare, my business falls off and both time and money are wasted, what is good about Christmas?
The Jews say 'Well over the Passover', I share the sentiment about Christmas.
At least 'Happy New Year' can be said with sincerity knowing that it is 51 weeks to Christmas.

Sort of. I'm looking forward to the 23rd when we have our first family party and hopefully everything is done. I'll be glad when the "This day only" sales ads stop falling from the paper, no more malls, shopping, wrapping, piped in Christmas music is over and I can hang out with my family and enjoy the excitement of the kids.
It is overhyped, too commercialized and I'll be glad to lose that part.

Yes,but not me I love Christmas, try to make someone happy, there are so many lonely or ill people, I think myself lucky,so count your blessings and look around you -forget the hype, maybe you are able to put magic into someone elses life, visit an OAP with mince pies just a simple gesture ask if elderly neighbours need any help. Hope you experience a magical Christmas xxx
