Well unless your DSL modem work like a router , you need
to buy a router. Plug both PCs into the ethernet ports.

There is no need to run any network wizard. But there is a need
to right click on each folder that you want to share and select share&security , and check share this folder over the network.
Also you need to turn off both firewalls.

This is called networking which does not involve the internet.

When you get your router I will walk you through the process.

Joe.

If you have a DSL router, with built in switch then its very easy. Just connect your two computers using the built in switch, or you need to go out and buy a switch. After you buy a switch, connect your router to the switch using a cross over cable. Then connect your two computers using two parallel cable. You can make parallel and cross over cables using your 10 meters of LAN cable. :D Just tell the shop keeper to make them for you. Um...the shop keeper of the shop from where you will buy the switch. You can also buy ready made parallel and cross over cables...

After connecting your computers, make sure that you run network setup wizard(Control Panel) in both of them.
