Do you have asthma? You may want to go to your local ER, just to get checked out...you never know what's wrong...It's normal later on in pregnancy, to get short of breath.....but I don't think it is at 6 months...

Remember that your ob/gyn isnt your primary care doctor. It's a good idea to ask both doctors about this problem. While breathing does sometimes get difficult when you're pregnant, due to the little booger crowding your lungs, you should never be so out of breath that you're scared.

Occassionally, an ob/gyn likes to use the excuse "well you're pregnant, deal with it" and this isn't always the case. Just because you're pregnant, doesn't mean other non-pregnancy related health issues won't develop.

As everyone has wisely stated, if you feel you cannot breath and its becoming an issue then seek medical attention, but at this stage of your pregnancy you heart and lungs are doing 50% more work to supply enough blood and oxygen to your body and your baby, which can leave you feeling short of breath, especially to if you tend to be a little larger build. Try to take things nice and slow. Talk to your GP next time you visit with him, or sooner of you think your in danger.

I have had similar problems with both of my previous pregnancy's, and I no doubt will have it again this time around.
I hope this helps

I think it's normal. The baby is pretty high up and probably restricting your normal airflow. Try lying down on your left side. (That's the best way to sleep when pregnant.)

If you feel like you can't catch your breath after a while, call your OBs office. They should have someone on there who can page the oncall doctor for you.

hiya this sounds normal but if it starting to worry you speak to your doctor, I'm almost 27weeks and this has just started to happen to me it feels horrible and sometimes it feels like someone is sitting on my chest
when i asked my midwife what the hell was happening it was everything being pushed up there which means your lungs have less space and because i panic it makes it harder to breath.
doctors are there for general pregnancy Q'S as well as health so plz just give them a quick call to put your mind at rest. they will never think you are wasting their time

If you feel you are getting insufficient air or feel you are suffocating you should go and see your Doctor immediately. Do not hesitate to go to the emergency room if necessary.

It may be nothing but you don't want to die or have your child die due to lack of oxygen do you? Anxiety can cause you to hyperventilate as well and cause dizziness as well. But at least call and speak with your Doctors nurse and se will tell you based on your symptoms what to do neat.

it has to do with asthma? but if your not having that kind of sickness maybe your lungs are just crowded because of the baby.. don't worry if its not getting better go to the hospital quickly
