I am getting an Ipod as a present, and the Apple website has an offer where they engrave it for free. However, if I do engrave it, it will be a final sale, no returns or exchanges. Should I engrave it or buy it as is?

don't engrave it. It will be absolete or discontinued in no time and you will discard it for something newer soon. Don't bother with the engraving. Besides if you want to resell it later, you won't be able to.

i thought about that too. but ipods get fingerprints on them and look bad very quickly. i just got a case to go on mine, so there wasn't much point of getting it engraved.

ok if apples doing it there probably not going to break it the outer metal case wont harm the ipod...if done right its just ther 4 protection but ipods break alot and the ability to return it would be nice

No. The iPod itself has a very thin casing and could sustain serious damage if you try to engrave it.
