Besides not paying the bill, you may have also inadvertently locked your cell phone which will require a code to unlock. Call customer service.

On a side note, GPS has nothing to do with 911. 911 centers cannot afford to be hooked up to a orbiting satellite. Location is determined by tower triangulation.

A few reasons:

1)As others stated, you didn't pay the bill

2)Some cell towers can only handle so much outgoing/incoming traffic. The tower that is closest to you is probably overwhelmed at the moment. If possible, try making a phone call at a later time or in a different area.

3)Emergency 911 is on a separate frequency. Most states require you to pay a mandatory tax on your cell phone for this service. PLEASE ONLY USE THIS NUMBER DURING AN EMERGENCY. When you dial this number, your phone actually enhances its frequency almost triple the power of a normal call.
Also, your phone probably has a built in GPS chip - making it easier for local authorities to find you.

4)Your best bet ... wait a few minutes, retry your call. Worst case, contact your service provider for an explanation.

You probablly didn't pay the bill. That's what Cingular does. If you don't pay the bill, you can only make emergency calls, until it'spaid.

When you don't pay on time, they remove your outcalling capabilities. Just go to your nearest Cingular store and take care of the bill, they can pull out all your information on their computer, all you need is your credit card. ;)

thank you - already be attentive to. Had one on New 365 days's Day, & plenty final 365 days. maximum genuine mobiles initiate 077 or 079, & they do no longer cling up til I answer the call. The 070 calls smash the bank, so do no longer EVER call them back.
