I am going to srinager on this new year .. can anybody tell be the cost of boat house or hotel in that place and which will be better ?

I stayed on a houseboat on Dal Lake.
Due to the conflict in kashmir, they are quite empty and very cheap. It is a better option than a hotel as they have beautiful intricate woodwork and always comes with meals and drinks.
I was there a few years ago and I was paying US$10 per day. Not sure what it would cost now. Cheap still.
There is no need to book ahead as you will be able to bargain with the vendors in Srinager.
