It has to be the point system that yahoo has invented. If you say something people connect with we get points and are rewarded like kids in kindergarten “Today Joey you get 10 points! Yaaaaayy!”. Then yahoo went over the top by giving is participants power to give and take points away once they reach level 2. Maybe we’re all waiting for a little Lepracon to pop on the screen and say “for that answer I give you my pot of Gold”.

for me it's asking stupid questions and watching all the poor schmucks actually trying to answer my stupid questions. For example one time I asked two weeks ago:
Ok so I've been farting into this glass vase for like a month now. Question about it?
I've been farting into my girlfriend's mom's glass vase for like a month now:
Do you guys think the vase will turn brown? Also do you think after a year or two of farting into it constantly I'll be able to drop a match in there and it'll ignite?
Isn't just silly that somebody would waste 1-2 mins to answer this retartded question?

I get answers to my questions just on the click of the button and there just too many things to learn going through some questions and answers. Besides this one really gets a good laugh.

Yeah, why? I'm pretty much over Facebook.com. Now this is kinda my new addiction. I guess it keeps my mind sharp by answering questions and having my questions answered.

Good question, don't really understand myself. Maybe it's the reward system. Maybe it's the points, maybe helping others, maybe bragging about what we know, maybe a combination of these. You can only answer so many before you hit the limit for the day though. Enjoy!

i have three reasons why i think it is addicting.
1. its a mind game... and we want to be challenged by asking and answering questions.
2. its a point game... the more we answer the more we get points... the more we have higher level.
3. its a cure for boredom.... like mine...
