Because the older you get, the longer you've been subjected to the relentless assault by the media and the masses, so your resistance to the messages of consumerism begins to falter.

That, and you don't get invited to parties because of your youthful good looks any more :)

Because that is how we are taught to perceive things in society. When you are young, you don't care much about money because it is your parents who are making it-but when you are older, you have to earn it yourself; you need it to survive. Some people think money and fame are the most important things in the world, but it isn't. Being rich in love is more important than having a lot of money.

Its normal.
When u grow older , you sense the important of living. And to live you had to eat n... all these need money.

Imagine:
you house, your food, your expenses , your phone bills and ... all need money. Without money you will be a living will be worst then dead. Other ways of saying, without money , you be dead. No house, no shelter , no food, no lifes....

Thus when people get more sensible then understand then power of money. in order to live , you had to have money.

If you are a wealth person, you not only get friends, high living lifestyle. but also recongnition from people. You are consider as a person with standared/status.

same things, money will bring you lies and troubles.

So the words is true :
There is something that money cant buy, anything else you can used MONEY.

Cheers !
* we should not live in the shadow/as a slaves of money, but as a person who look forward to live.

Because it is burned into your mind more and more by society, with it's capitalism, the older you get. Education in your youth simply makes your mind able to be sculpted, and gives it a capitalist foundation of competition, selfishness and arrogance. Once this foundation is met, and one becomes an adult, they are able to join the conformed ranks of capitalism by getting a job, doing the same thing every day that means nothing (unless you're one of the lucky ones where your interests are popular and thus more easily funded, such as science) for the majority of your life, and then when you're 65 you get to retire, live the rest of your life as a rest from the years of pointless work, and you accept this voluntary slavery simply because it is easier than changing things and advancing ourselves mentally. For society to change, our minds would have to change; the fundamental way we think.

UNFORTUNATELY-Money makes the world go round. We are all dependent on money. no matter where you are in life everyone has to have it, therefore it is important. But honestly who cares how people treat you and perceive you because of the amount of money you have or do not have. That would make them judgmental and shallow. That sounds pretty ugly and very unimportant to me.

Because, money is alot like choices. The more money you have available to spend-the more choices you are able to choose from. Obviously, as you get older, security becomes more of an important issue to you, and you are less resiliant to an adversity, and eventually too, there comes a day when one realizes that 'maybe, there's not, still, plenty of time left'.

You already said it in the later lines of yr question.
As we get older the latter two become very important in the "societal" scheme of things - where Money or status is the common denominator.
In our youth we are more "individual" & how we are defined or percieved depends on mostly other factors than money.

The older we get, the more parameters we're surrounded with that define our place in the society. The older we get, the more we experience and the more we want. The oler we get, the more we get entwined in resposibilities. Unline kids, who're carefree, the older we get, he more consious we become of our image, and the more we struggle to prune, magnify and elaborate it.And hence, the more imp money seems to be...

Because as the older you get the more you understand what you want from life. And everything cost money even love and happiness.
