An 'astigmatism' is a flaw in the cornea (the clear outer part of the eye that covers your pupil and your iris), or in the lens, which is the part of your eye that focuses light onto the retina (the part of your eye that transmit images to your brain).

If either the cornea or the lens has a little bit of an funny shape to it, it causes things you see to be a little bit out of focus.

Astigmatism is VERY common, and easily corrected with glasses, contact lenses, or laser eye surgery. It is nothing at all to be worried about.

It's actually astigmatism. I was told by my eye doctor and my parents that is is where your eyes move uncontrollably, either up and down, or across. It is very noticeable for some people, like me, and hardly noticeable for others, also it could be in just one eye, or both eyes. For the contacts, the only difference between normal contacts and astigmatism contacts is that astigmatism contacts are larger so that when your eyes "shake" it doesn't go outside of the contact.

It is astigmatism, and refers to a property of a lens (particularly of the eye) in which the focal length on one transverse axis differs from that on the perpendicular axis.

I have it..it's where the clear part on the eye is not round and is more football shaped. It's nothing to worry about most of the time
