Digital musical players are considered ubiquitous devices because they are portable computing storage devices with an internal system for you to open and execute files.
In my opinion, Ipods, MP3 players ... all the same thing. Just different looks with different features. The only difference is storage capacity, color/non-color display, video playback case style, capabilities, hyped up brand name, audio enhancement capabilities, etc. In retrospect, these devices are somewhat like cars. Both do the same things; some have more enhanced features.
Your best best is to visit an electronics store, compare three or four digital music players for their features and cost, compare prices on-line, then make a decision. Almost every digital music player is supported on a Macs and PC. Generally, the more capacity the player has, the pricier it tends to be.
