Let me do your homework today:)
***********
It's both a boon and a bane. Internet has helped man to see the other part of the world at the click of a mouse. We know what is happening everwhere- may it be any current affair, floods, earthquakes, politics, latest treatment, invention of electronic gadgets, astronomical discovery etc. Secondly, Internet has helped people to connect--emails for one-to-one interaction, blogs for expressing & discussing, groups for specialized discussion.
Thirdly, it helps saving lives of people in several ways. Medical research, new drugs, organ donors, infertility treatments, unusual surgeries..we now are aware where we can go for treatment.
Fourthly, business is totally dependent on internet. For any company, there are offices globally. Employees connect with each other, have video conferences, have meetings on internet.
Sales and marketing is highly efficient because world is a global village.
Fifth, online shopping is the in-thing now. It saves time, energy.
Again, people from one part of the world can order anything from a distant place.
There are many more miscellaneous benefits--tracking courier,
online reservations, online examinations, online lecture classes.
At the same time, internet has a long list of shortcomings too.
Today there are websites which showcase pornography. Rapes, sexual abuse has increased. Kids at a very young age get exposed to things which they shouldn't be at their age.
One can have multiple email addresses. People make fake addresses and misuse this independence. Kids keep on chatting with anonymous people the whole night. Their eyes are badly affected. Carpel Tunnel Syndrome is becoming too common.
Medicine has now recongnized "addiction to internet" as a disease. I do not recollect the actual name given to this problem.

well, the positive side is, there is an easier way for the youth, not only those in school but also those out of school youth, to find what they are looking for. It saves time and energy. What i mean is, "Rushing" is being avoided.
So, for the negative side, as we all know, everything that's too much is really bad. like for example, a teenager would rather stay in his room surfing the internet to gain friends instead of walking under the sun and personally introducing themselves. In the long run, this will result to weak resistance to sickness because they don't get enough vitamins from the sun.

Positive Effect
1) Students have acess to good information for projects and study help
2) Internet enables students to get whatever they want on the net
3) Chatting and making friends over the net
Negitive Efects
1) Students make research on all the wrong, adult rated sites.
2) Students spend all their time over the net and don't ay attention to their studies.
3) Sometimes vireses get downloaded, if the youth don't be careful.
4) Instead of going to the library to read good books, the youth prefer being at home/ going to the cyber cafe to listen to music and play games on line

Positive: endless infinite information to make us more knowledgeable. Learning organizational skills and (for small kids) learning how big the world really is
Negative: Kids use instant messaging, which sort of encourages poor spelling and grammar. This sometimes is brought to school and put to use, which is NOT GOOD. They also may find inappropriate websites that are easy to find. This can cause over-maturity. Another problem is that not all Internet information is accurate. For example, a malicious kid posts something on Wikipedia that is deliberately false and someone else believes it.

There is good influences and bad influences. Like websites like myspace.com children may be tempted to go on and many have gave their person information to people which is very dangerous. You can be anyone you want on the internet which is ropeplaying. So many people do it you dont know who is who. On the instant messenger someone may IM you and say they are someone when they are soemone else. The thing most kids do which they dont realize is bad is giving personal information. A girl on myspace 12 yrs old gave out her town and what school she goes to! A bad person on the internet could come to the school! Also there are many websites like for example one that says FREE music! when actually it is a scam to give personal information. I have had experience going on a site like that. On the internet kids discover many things they wouldnt if there was no nternet. The good side is that there are websites where you can learn about various things. dr.math.com helps you with math which is good. Club Peguin is a good site for children to learn and safe fun.

Kids need to be supervised when chatting online. Like on aol messenger etc. Some people misrepresent themselves online and could be sexual predators etc. Their are websites that show pornography and kids shouldn't' be viewing this kind of information at all. Carpel Tunnel Syndrome is becoming too common in younger people Just a few ideas.

Negatives: We became lazy, even more anti-social than our parents and grandparents, fat because people can order macdonalds on the computer and get it delivered to them, new health problems such as arthritis in the hands (carpal tunnel). More cheating on essay assignments for classes.
Positives: We get to communcate to other youth or friends even if they are at home or around the world. We have more entertainment such as Youtube. Youth has the world of information at their fingertips

Positive side: Information and Information everywhere. Just by browsing you can have a wide range of information about anything and everything the man
had unearthed.
Negative side: Again information and information through sites which hampers the health of the personality - like various sex sites, drugs sites etc..

i read a ton online when i was in school. so i guess the pro could be that we are smart.
the con could be that we sit on the puter all day instead of reading a normal book. youth have more access to **** and other 'adult' sites too. so that's a con also.
