Explain to your coworkers that you had a cosmetic procedure that removes the effects of the sun on your skin. There is an actual cosmetic procedure done in a dermatologists office that removes years of sun damage to your face, but it makes you look like you have been beat up..including 2 black eyes. Patients also usually have to wear sunglasses even indoors for a week. Otherwise, it will take awhile for significant facial bruising to fade away.

Short term:
Use make up concealer. Once I fell in an icerink and got a blackeye.
Long term: Take a good look at what happened - were you or the people you were hanging out with drinking too much? What kind of bars do you frequent? Get some professional help if you have an anger management or alcoholism problem.
Be honest with yourself and change the behavior that led to this incident.

You can only apply either an ice pack or a cold piece of steak
on your closed eye.
The cold will decreese the swelling for a little bit,
but the bruices will not go away fast.

And don't get mixed up in another bar fight. Aren't you a professional as you mentioned???

More plausible to say you were in a car accident as a passenger. You can bruised from multiple angles that way. Act somewhat sheepish & relieved that the cop didn't give you a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt.

I can only offer three options, 1-Try a cover-up cream (ask a Woman). 2-Lie and say you were in an accident. 3-Call in sick.

If someone asks, tell them you fell and hit your face on something.

Tell them a kid tripped you and you fell "down" the "up" escalator for fifteen minutes.
