computer's hard drive. I kinda compared it to photobucket since i am uploading the songs to itunes and not actually saving them on my computer. So, am I really using up my computer space?? And my second question is if I were to go over to a friends house who also had ITUNES installed on their computer and I logged in to my account on her computer could I access my playlist?

You are indeed using up space on your hard drive, in fact depending on what format you are using to upload your music you could be using quite a lot of space. iTunes is simply a music player installed on your computer, while photobucket is an online service where all your photos are stored on their server's hard drive allowing you access to them.

Be careful to check what size your hard drive is and how much space your music is using. If you look under the 'music' option on the left side of the iTunes toolbar you can see the amount of music simply at the bottom, when you look you will see:

The number of songs you have, the amount of days it would take to play them all, and the amount of space used to hold them all.

After that check the size and space left on your hard drive just to be safe.

uploading your CD's onto iTunes does take up space on your hard drive, but depending on the size of your hard drive, and how much music you are uploading, it probably isn't too big of a deal. Also, I don't think you can access your playlist if you log onto iTunes on a different computer.

If you have a computer with a big hard drive it wont matter. But my husband bought an external hard drive for us just in case. This way we can download files and keep them on there.
