Apple does have the best mp3's, but you pay a premium for it.
The Creative has an excellent line and some say even better than the iPods because the prices are much better. Check out their Zen series. They have a competitive line. http://www.creativelabs.com
The rest of the brands pretty much suck. They may look great from a price standpoint, but Creative and Apple have the best features, navigation and look and feel.

Creative has a line of MP3 players that are very compareable to an Ipod AND have FM radio, are smaller, but only hold 8 gigabytes instead of 30 or 80

Get a cheap one from like walmart for in effortless words $one hundred, a sturdy one may be like $70, I propose merely getting like a usb port one the position you merely drag your songs unto it like a bounce force. (i do no longer propose getting a very cheapy cheapy one which develop into on sale for like 50 or 60% off and it develop into like $25 or $50- like I had some weird and wonderful call I not in any respect heard of pronounced as a Rio, do not get one. It broke in some months. )

My daughter has already had 2 ipods break on her. I don't think we'll be spending another $300 for another one....we'll get a less expensive player.
