Would it be better not to go to college if you are not majoring in Natural Sciences like Chemistry, Biology. Or Law school, Med school, and MBA programs?

Thats where all the jobs are that needs these degrees. Other than that, many jobs dont require other types.

I hope you have not stopped going to College!
Everyday you are getting older! You must go back and get that Degree! You do it now or you will never do it. And it looks bad when you are looking for a job and you put your resume out there and your education just stops. Don't do that to yourself. You can pull a 40 hour week and go to school full time. You know you can.

Statistically, the average college graduate makes more money than those who had less education. However, on an individual basis, there are occasionally exceptions to this general rule.

Still, even these exceptions may only be for a time. For example, a college graduate may be paid the same or less than someone with only a high school degree for now, but the college graduate is more likely to be promoted in the future.

Also, increased education has other benefits. It improves your decision making ability, your ability to learn in new situations, your ability to read and write, your awareness of aspects of life you wouldn't naturally study if you didn't have to, and much more. Of course, what ever subject area you studied in college may also apply to other parts of your life, making them better because you are better prepared to address those areas.

Interesting, most people without a college degree who make significant amounts of money actually encourage their children to get college degrees, including advanced degrees. This is discussed in the book, The Millionaire Next Store, by Thomas J. Stanley. The explanation is that these millionaires recognize the value of a college degree even though they never had the opportunity to get one.

Yeah, and without a masters you won't do a whole lot better unless you catch a break from a friend in the business. A four year BS, BA etc. is just a stepping stone I'm sorry to say. My Business B.S. did nothing. My, younger than me boss, has only a high school degree and NO experience but she was a friend of the big boss and was promoted over me. She made about $50K annual. I looked at my diploma hanging on the wall and just about cried. With a masters I could have been in several other places.

I agree, no degree is a waste of money. Some will take you further than others, but it depends on you and your goals. If you want to teach, then ANY degree is good. Also a degree can give you that slight advantage over the other applicant that is seeking the same job as you. A degree shows that you are willing to learn and apply yourself and set and achieve goals. As the market gets flooded w/ people w/ technical degrees, soon a depletion will come with those in Liberal Arts, History, Political Science, etc...

The more education you have, the more successful you will be in life - no matter what your degree is in. Generally, people with a college degree earn more in their lifetime than those without a college degree. I just finished watching a dvd in which Donald Trump spoke about this exact subject. He said that although you can be successful without a college education, those with a college degree have an advantage.

You need to have a goal.....something like Nursing or Engineering in order to get a job. It's hard to get a job if you major in Art History or Language History etc........You need to have something specific in mind. Something that is in demand. But, overall, I would say that college is not a waste of time. You learn a lot more than just school stuff.

My Philosophy degree is almost worthless from a economic perspective, yet from an academic perspective it has helped me strengthen, even with the very undeniable truth that I realized maximum once you've out into the genuine international.

It depends on your level of commitment, and besides, most people go to college for the experience. 4 years of partying and not learning much can also equal a B.A. in most majors.
