so many people have asked this question. When you type this sort of question.... yahoo will show similar questions so that you can avoid loosing 5 points,,,anyway...if you have any friends who have gmail account..you request them to invite you...if you don't have you contact me with your e-mail ID

You need to be referred by another gmail member. Each Gmail member can invite up to 15 people. Dont ask me why. There must be something that started it all.

My understanding is that you have to be invited by someone that already has one to get one. At least it used to be that way. I still it's still that way.
