Ok, my guppy is a pretty big female. She looks pregnant, and you can see through her stomach little guppy eyes and looks like there bodies, she is a clear guppy, not one of the darker kind, and does not have a very black gravid spot. She is healthy and not very big, but has those baby guppy eyes =P, so, is she ready to give birth, or does she have to get bigger? Will guppy eyes show a long time before birth or only right before birth?

What bothers me and makes me think she is not having them soon is the fact that there is not that many and she is not that fat yet, and yes, I am POSITIVE they are eyes :P

All females will have a gravid spot but if she has been near a male then she is pregnant. You can see the eyes for around 2 weeks or so before she is really to give birth, signs of labor can be breathing hard, staying in one spot, being nippy towards others that wont leave her alone and she will square off in the bottom area. A lot of people don't like to use those breeding nets because it puts a lot of stress on the female and if in there too soon she can actually abort the pregnancy or cause her to have them too soon. After she does give birth in around 4 weeks she will give birth again even if she hasn't been near a male since they can store sperm for up to 6 pregnancies. Here is a site all about guppies that you should check out for more signs she could be ready and anything else you may want to know, http://guppies.com/ Join the forum too.

I had a yellow female guppy and her graved spot never got dark but it did get "eyes" in there.

The only way to really tell is by the shape of her body. Her belly will look square before birth.Don't leave her in the trap to long it can stress her and she can abort even at this stage in pregnancy. Only 24hr periods at a time then release her back into the tank. If you have had her for a long time then it may help for you to know they birth about once a month.

instead of having her in a trap which can stress her out just put a bunch of plastic plants so if she does give birth the babies can hide. Cover the filter with some pantyhose so the babies dont get sucked up

oh and you can bump up the heat a tiny bit and add some aquarium salt it may speed it up

sometimes decrease than stress or shifting her too overdue in the being pregnant to a fry tank she will have untimely births and the birthing technique would be lengthened sometimes as much as two weeks.it particularly is terrific to circulate her on the main suitable time to avert this.you are able to tell by making use of her Gravid spot in spite of if it particularly is crimson then she is pregnant if it relatively is black then she is in a position to furnish, you desire to circulate here someplace in middle overdue point, approximately dark brown or extra useful yet in simple terms %. in a gaggle of plastic flowers 8-10 or extra balled up in a corner and the fry can in simple terms stay in those.

she'll go into 'labor' before she has them if you can see it..
she'll breath heavy and she'll flap her fins rapidly.. And then watch those suckers fly out of her...

this is the rule, small female give birth to 10 or so... Larger female can give birth to 50-60... I've read up to 100 but i've never seen that.

She will probably have them in the next few nights (they usually have them at night). Be sure that you have plenty places for the babies to hide, or the mother may eat them.
