I dont understand. Some people can be extremely selfish. They steal their friends' boyfriends/girlfriends. I have been affected by this evilness, and now i see one of my friends having to deal with it also. I know it is not uncommon. I just dont understand why people can be so evil and selfish as to steal their friend's mate. We dont have to succumb to an animal state, where there is a chain of food and all the animals eat each other. Why do people act this way sometimes?

The reason why people are selfish is because they only care about themselves and they would do whatever to get what they want, no matter what the consequences are. Those selfish people need to remember " What goes around, comes around." It is called karma. Keep in mind that selfish people shouldn't get to you and it is up to you to make the best out of the situation. I still don't understand why either.

Some people are just biologically evil basically, meaning the way their brain is wired they have no ability to feel for others. This has been pretty well researched in psychology.
Some people are made selfish though, I think from being raised into very bad families that are extremely selfish. If you are raised in an environment that you are screwed unless you screw others, it becomes your mentality for life.
Understanding that, you can feel sorry for some people, as they do not see that they do not need to hurt you in order to survive. It would be better if they could change instead, but when I see that kind of person I pray for them.. since either way they are a victim too.
