anyone can sound good with some effects and overdubbing, But when they pull it off live, well that's talent. there is nothing better than a blaring amp and guitar in you ear.

It depends. I have been to many (300+ JOURNEY shows & STEVE PERRY could match his vocals as he did on cd. Not too sure about STEVE AUGERI cause he can NEVER do a complete show. And well over 1,000 for other rock, metal concerts) This is done by NOT going back to the studio for the umpteenth time. A few other GREAT concerts that sound better than their cd counterparts are Black Sabbath (Ozzy days), Led Zeppelin,.. You get the idea. You keep doing overdubs & you will NEVER be able to sound like "your" cd. Just depends if the band does "live" in the studio OR if one person records his vocals in this one the guitarist does his there.you get the idea. If you do your cd as a whole, it is better. And that comes across in concert.

Most bands are way better on CD than live. I can't really think of any band that was better in person. The energy is better though!!! Rock On!!!!!!!!!!

I guess it definitely depends on the band. I've been to several concerts and some have been great and some have been terrible. I'm a big Alice In Chains fan, but I saw them open for Van Halen before they were big and they were awful. I saw Goo Goo Dolls open for Bon Jovi and they were awful, but Bon Jovi is always AWESOME. I saw Ozzy and he was great, too. I love concerts and if the band is good live, nothing beats it!!! I've seen tons and most have been great.

Live!!, you get into it more. you remember the experience of being around everyone who's diggin the band at the same time you are. it's a communal thing. listening to a CD's kinda selfish. "i want to buy this for me and only me!"
