You can get pregnant without having a period. You may have ovulated without knowing it and timed the sex perfectly. Light spotting could be implantation bleeding which occurs about 6 days after fertilization. Wait about a week and a half and then test or go for a blood test.

You ovulate before your period so it is possible to get pregnant with out having a peroid. Because if you ovulate, have sex then the next period would not come on. If I would advise you to take regular pregnacy tests if your periods are irregular, that way you would be better able to help your doctor determine how far along you are.
