yeah, a burn is a burn, however, just when you think it can't get any worse it usually does. that's been my experience anyway.

Oh hell to the yes! No pun intended. Things can always get worse. The only things I used to fear was loosing my spouse, and my job. I lost both, and can tell you I've been baptized by fire, and am a much more resilient person for it.

I don't know, I think life always has ups and downs and good times and bad times. We meet good people who do us good and bad people who do bad things to us. It burns you, true, but as the Chinese say when going through a hard time "It can't rain everyday."

it just depends on the fire. Some people use the term for how they feel inside and well as for the fire literally.

It seems like we all have to put up with trials and tribulations, but there's something to remember:
We have to get a little rain with the sunshine, just so we can appreciate the sunshine.

"It can't get any worse," means, optimistically speaking, "it's going to get better; pessimistically speaking, it can't get any worse, it's as bad as it will ever be and always has been.
"It can always get worse," i.e., it's better now than it will be, but the fire will always burn. yes.
