i have a guy friend that i havent seen or spoken to in months, he lives in a different state than me now. whenever i want to talk on the phone with him, he's busy or not up to it. yesterday, i asked him if he wanted to talk and he said "ok" and then told me "brb". i was quite happy when he agreed to it because i missed talking to him on the phone and i like talking to people on the phone much more than IM. however, when he came back about 7 minutes later, he said he was going to go take a shower and then go to sleep. i was mad about it, and i couldnt get over it in the morning because it was something i really looked forward to. so today i confronted him about it and told him i was still mad about it. he said he was sorry but he says sorry quite often that it just made me more mad. i told him that he could try to make it up to me and then told him how he should try keep his word. he got mad, and we havent talked since about 8 hours ago. what should i do?

he said hes much not of a phone person but he used to talk to me on the phone before, thats why i get a little mad when he makes these excuses. i know we wont work out relationship wise btw. also, whenever we talk I always have to IM him but he says its because he says he doesnt IM anyone. i made this mistake down the line before (doing alot of the work in friendshios) so im wondering if i should still talk to him.

No offence but 8 hours really isn't that long. If he is a true friend he will get over it and call u back. But having friends u don't see or talk to very often can be hard. Maybe there is something u don't know about that is going on with him. If he doesn't call u in the next few days call him and apoligize even if u didn't do something u thought was wrong. Don't get mad right off the bat. have a little more patience with him then rip his head off. You'll be fine, this probably won't last long.

You should say sorry for not accepting his apology and maybe that will ease things down a bit. it'll probably also get a conversation going. you should tell him that you were just mad and it wasn't his fault that you IMed him late and around the same time he was about to hit the shower and go to bed. Just make sure that when you do talk to him tell him that he has to keep in touch because you cherish his friendship and it means a lot to you and you miss him being apart of your life. trust me i know how you feel, i went through the same thing once when i was in middle school which was a long time ago... any who, we've been great friends ever since. Because of that conversation our friendship has grown to be stronger and stronger everyday. We're still best friends until this day! I hope all goes well with your conversation with your friend.

You've made your feelings known in words, so leave it at that for a moment. Maybe for a while don't try to talk to him - on the phone or messenger - and see how he reacts to that. Often silence is stronger then words.

Sistah, the dude is giving you clear signals that he's not interested in the friendship. Let him go and go find some other friends. You haven't spoken since * hours ago? That tells me that you might be strangling him. Go find some new friends.

Sounds like you expect him to talk to you 24/7. Give it a break for a week and then call.

he obviously for some reason doesn't care about you anymore, so you shouldn't really bother with him and get on with your life.
