You need to be taking her temperature about every 6 hours then, so you know when it is going to be soon. When her temp drops then you will be looking at 6-12 hours but it can go up to 36 hours.

When real labor is going to start she will become very restless and look uncomfortable. She may look to you for reassurance and encouragement. Just before, she may vomit and push the bedding around a lot.
When the actual contractions begin you can visibly see her belly tighten up. You also can feel it if you have your hands on her sides or tummy.
When that begins, be ready for the pups to come. It can take as few as 3 or 4 contractions for a pup to be born, but it can also be an hour. If it is over that and you do not see a pup then call your vet for further instructions.

Contractions are unmistakable. The abdomen tightens, then relaxes. On a GSP you should be able to see it clearly.

Don't fear. I t is extremely usual amongst animals to have freams after they sleep. As lengthy as they're nonetheless respiring and act natural after they unsleeping, you shouldnt have a crisis. MY puppies regularly run of their sleep and stir round.
