I changed the whole numbers into fractions as well then found the common denomenator as follows:

5x6+1=31 so 5 1/6 = 31/6
4x7+4=32 so 4 4/7 = 32/7

so common denomenator is 42

31/6 x 7/7 = 217/42
32/7 x 6/6 = 192/42

217-192 = 25

so your answer would be 25/42 and it cannot be reduced.

5 1/6 - 4 4/7 = 1 1/6 - 4/7
1 1/6 = 7/6 = 49/42
4/7 = 24/42
49/42 - 24/42 = 25/42

25 = 5*5, 42 = 6*7
no common factors, so it cannot be reduced

5 1/6 -4 4/7=
31/6 - 32/7=
217/42-192/42=25/42

25/42 can not be reduced any further.

if your question is 5 1/6 - 4 4/7., your answer is wrong.

5 1/6 - 4 4/7= 31/6 - 32/7
= (217-192)/42
= 25/42

17 is a prime #, so 17 over anything that is not an integer multiple of 17 can't be reduced.
